MÜSİAD President Burhan Özdemir and MÜSİAD UK Chairwoman Av. Türkan Akbaş attended the strategically important JETCO 8th Roundtable, held in London under the chairmanship of Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat and UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade Peter Kyle, aimed at strengthening trade between Turkey and the United Kingdom.

During the meeting:

  • Turkey’s strategic location, investment potential, and future-oriented trade strategies were discussed.

  • The modernization of the Turkey-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA/STA) and the JETCO Protocol and Action Plan were reviewed.

  • The Mutual Recognition Arrangement for Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) was signed; Turkish AEO-certified companies will be recognized as secure operators in the UK, benefiting from reduced inspections, priority processing, and shorter waiting times at customs.

  • The 2026–2027 Action Plan outlined a roadmap to deepen trade relations between the business communities of both countries.
